Big Cedar-CS 921016Federal Emergency Management Agency Washington, D.C. 20472 OCT 16 1992 CERTIFIED MAIL RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED The Honorable Mark Wolfe Mayor, City of Coppell P.O. Box 478 255 Parkway Boulevard Coppell, Texas 15019 Dear Mayor Wolfe: Case No.: 92-06-124P Community: City of Coppell, Texas FIR~M Panel No.: 480170 0010 D This letter is in response to a letter dated September 2, 1992, from Mr~ Kenneth M~ Criffin, P.E., City Engineer, City of Coppell, regarding the effective Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for the City of Coppell, Texas. In his letter, Mr. Griffin requested that we revise the effective FIRM to show the effects of fill placed along Tributary G-1 of Grapevine Creek, from approximately 685 feet upstream of Bethel School Road to approximately 1,800 feet upstream of Bethel School Road. All data required to support this request were submitted by Mr. Griffin with his September 2 letter. This request documents final "as-built" conditions for a development adjacent to Tributary G-1 of Grapevine Creek, for which a conditional Letter of Map Revision (LOMR} was issued on November 19, 1991; and it also revises the data used to prepare the preliminary FIRM panel (only panel printed) for the City of Coppell, Texas, dated December 18, 1991. We have completed our review of the data submitted, and have determined that the technical report submitted in support of the request entitled "Floodplain Analysis for a Final LOMR for a Portion of Tributary G-1 of Grapevine Creek, City of Coppell, Dallas County, Texas," prepared by Goodwin and Marshall, dated August 1992, represents the best available data for the above-described reach of Tributary G-1 of Grapevine Creek. Please note that this information will be included in the final printing of the FIRM panel for the City of Coppell, Texas, presently scheduled for the winter of 1992-1993. In the interim, until this data is included in the final printing, the City of Coppell and the State of Texas may utilize these data in their floodplain management programs. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please call Mr. Alan Johnson of my staff in Washington, D.C., at (202) 646-3403. Sincerely, cc: ~r. Kenneth M. Griffin, P.E.
