As a follow up to our conversation of 5-24-12, after re-review of TxDOT Item 275.4, curing of the
cement stabilized roadway is only required for three(3) days. The contractor is required to keep tt
subgade wet until opened for traffic or until another layer is added. The moisture can be maintain
by using AC emulsion sealer OR by keeping the stabilized subgrade moisture content to at least 2/i
below optimum MC. Both AC sealer and keeping the roadway wet are not required, but the AC seV
should be applied while the subgrade has the required minimum moisture level. The 42 lbs./SY of
cement would certainly work in lieu of 39.6 lbs./SY as recommended.
As a side note question and answer, Cem-lime must have at least 55 % cementitious material. •
