ST1002-PL120803 MEMORANDUM FROM THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT To: JRJ Paving, LP From: Rick O’Dell, Construction Inspector Date: August 3, 2012 RE: Subsequent Walk-thru for Old Town Coppell (These items were noted after Project Engineer’s return) 1. Move the stop signs at Houston St & Travis St @ S. Coppell Rd closer to S. Coppell Rd. 2. Clean all trash up and remove large weeds. 3. Restore irrigation @ Chamber of Commerce building driveway. 4. Street name signs are needed @ E Main St and W Main St on both ends, W Main St @ Houston St, and E Main St @ Travis St. 5. There appears to be an overabundance of sign poles at some of the intersections. Is there a way to combine signs on one pole or have dual purpose poles? 6. Stop bars are needed at these locations:  Main St @ Houston St southbound  Houston St @ Main St eastbound  Mitchell St @ Bethel Rd southbound 7. Restore irrigation @ Kirkland House on S. Coppell Rd. 8. Need plantings, irrigation & electric outlets at the three new tree wells on Main St. 9. On Page 82: need two 35’ lengths of 2” sleeves to islands (conduits to islands apparently were not installed). 10. Banner pole arms on bridge over box culvert are wrong; they should have an arm at the top and an arm at the bottom, not two at the top. 11. A parking lot line to demarcate parking spaces along Bethel Rd.; reflective buttons are needed on the driving surface due to drivers hitting the curb. 12. Cut down stump across from the northwest parking lot. 13. Parking lot lights need to be installed at the northwest parking lot. 14. Remove the 8 way-finding signs at 4 locations that advertise Old Town businesses, contact Rick O’Dell prior to removal:  Southwestern @ Denton Tap Rd  Bethel Rd @ Denton Tap Rd  Sandy Lake Rd @ Coppell Rd  Freeport Parkway @ Bethel Rd 15. City has requested a TDLR inspection, JRJ will be invited to participate if there is sufficient notice. Any deficiencies will have to be corrected prior to final acceptance. 16. Test the electrical outlets installed by Mel’s Electric once the power is supplied – get with Parks Dept. to schedule. 17. The strip south of the south alley needs to be hydro-mulched; it has not been sprayed yet. 18. Grass should be established in areas that have been hydro-mulched, additional hydro- mulch should be applied as required to establish ground cover. 19. Pull boxes not installed (abandoned) by franchise utility should be removed from project. 20. Landscape & irrigation should be installed per Change Order #7 adjacent to Burns St. 21. Parks Dept. will perform a walk-through inspection of irrigation & controllers once power service has been established and controllers have been set. 22. Adjust the sewer clean-out @ the Kirkland House with a raised concrete pad. 23. Check remaining storm sewer video. 24. The asphalt curb on Coppell Rd north of Bethel Rd should be repaired and kept in good condition for the term of the maintenance bond. 25. Repairs need to be done at the stop bars at the following locations:  Main St @ Houston St  Mitchell St @ Bethel Rd  S. Coppell Rd @ Bethel Rd across from Mitchell St 26. Any items on the Public Works Dept.’s punchlist that have not been addressed should be completed at this time. 27. The City’s contract with JRJ Paving requires an Affidavit of Final Payment (to Subcontractors) and As-Built Plans be submitted prior to Final Acceptance of the project.
