COPPELL PUBLIC WORKS
MEMORANDUM
February 17, 1989
TO: Steve Goram, Director of Public Works
FROM: Per Birdsall, Street Foreman ~~/
RE: Carrollton P & Z Commission Meeting Feb. 16, 1989
The meeting was called to order with all P & Z members present
at 7:30 p.m..
Itmes 3 and 4 concerning the proposed landfill were the first topics
for public hearing. No new information had been presented for
these items and no one was in attendance for continuance and voted
unanimously for continuance for the March 16, 1989 meeting.
Item 5 also involved this site. Texas Industries Inc. (TXI) requested
to have the SUP for sand, gravel, and earth excavation reinstated.
This SUP reinstatement was denied with only one member opposing
the motion for denial.
Carrollton P & Z Commission is apparently concerned about the affects
of an increased traffic loading on their portion of Sandy Lake
Road. TXI, who was proposing to only run empty on Carrollton's
Sandy Lake, made little difference to their decision to deny rein-
statement of the SUP for TXI's uses. The Commission expressed
concern for Coppell also.
