Big Cedar-CS 910802G OODWIN ARSHALL CIVIL ENGINEERS ~ PLANNERS ~ SURVEYORS August 2, 1991 Ms. Shohre Danshmand, P.F_~ City Engineer City of Coppell P.O. Box 478 Coppell, Texas 75019 Sewer Capacity of 10 Inch Sewer Main Traversing Tributary G-1 of Grapevine Creek, University Park Addition, Coppell, Texas Dear Shohre: As you are aware, Goodwin and Marshall, Inc. (G&M) is currently providing engineering services for the above referenced project. The prospective developers of the tract have requested that I verify the existing capacity of the 10 inch line, as well as the ability to relocate a portion of the sewer as it impacts the development. I have discussed these issues with Mr. Howard Pafford. He indicated that he had no problem with the proposed relocation, as long as the City is provided sufficient acceas to the proposed sewer line. Mr. Pafford and I also pulled the construction plans for the line. In the vicinity of the proposed project the sewer maintains a constant slope of 0.25 percent. This results in a total line capacity of approximately 710,000 gallons per day. Based on an average per capita use of 325 gallons per household, together with a peak flow factor of 3.0 yields a total capacity in the line for approximately 730 single family dwellings. Based on current records it appears that there is more than sufficient additional capacity in this line for the 45 units represented by the University Park addition. Please verify this fact, so that we can continue the process of developing this property. I appreciate your assistance in this matter. If you have any questions or comments regarding this issue, please feel free to call. Sincerely, ~ /~-t~z, ~ D. Matthew Goodwin, P.E.
