Dear Ken,
As we briefly discussed today, I propose to asphalt the west parking lot of
509.5 West Bethel as per my S.U.P. recommendations with two alterations: 1) Use
existing base and 2) apply two inches of asphalt pavement.
In 1992, the existing lot was graded and compacted to accomodate six inches or
more of flex-base material topped with two inches Bridgeport aggregate and was re-
topped with aggregate two years ago as well. I have been told by two different paving
companies-- who physically walked the lots-- that this is a more than adequate base
for asphalt pavement and would hold the buildings' expected type of traffic as well as
a forty thousand pound fire engine.
I would greatly appreciate your consideration of these reasonable alterations
to the D.R.C.'s "comments."
