Access hatch
..................................................................
The access hatch at sandy lake on the roof that get replaced Is larger that the opening in the roof. The opening In the roof
is roughly 36 x 36. the curb on the roof is roughly 50 x 50, In your response to RFI 5 you stated that you want the hatch
mounted on a curb, but with no cost to the city, so our plan is to reuse the existing curb. If this is what we end up doing
we will need a 50 x 50 access hatch. Also to completcate matters there are concrete structural beams in the roof that
would IlmIt the size of this hatch. Please advice.

Install the hatch on the existing curb. We understand that this will require a 50"x50"access
hatch, which per your email dated April 5, 2005 (see attached) results in no additional cost to the
City_

To use a 50"x50"there is no additional cost to the city. Yes the structural beams do affect the hatch size. The existing opening
goes from beam to beam north to south and there is another beam on the Westside of the opening. There is no beam on the
eastside of the opening you have roughly 6"and then there is the exterior wall. The opening in the roof would make the hatch
smaller, but installing it on the existing curb would make the hatch bigger. The existing curb is set back from the opening. I don't
know if this clear it up or just confuses the situation more, please let me know.

Todd,
I received your RFI #007 regarding the access hatch and I'm still not exactly clear on what you are asking. If we elect to
reuse the existing curb, which will require an approximate 50"x50"gate, is there any additional cost to the City? Also, do
the structural beams in the roof impact the hatch size regardless of whether or not the hatch is installed with a curb?
Please clarify so I can respond to your RFI.
Thanks,
Erika
