Emergency at Deforest Lift Station
On June 22, 1997, at the City Deforest Sewer Lift Station, a
disaster occurred. The entire sewage pump facility was filled with
sewage. The holding tank known as the "wet well" and the control
room that houses all the pumps, controls, and monitors, known as
the "dry well" was filled with sewage.
At this time, we are still in an emergency status to get this pump
station back on line. I would like to request that Stuart
Electric Service do the electrical repair for this facility rather
than going out for several bids. Under the circumstances, the
facility must be repaired in a timely manner. Your opinion and
verification with regard to City policy concerning this emergency
situation is needed.
