CF-Village-CS 890411 GINN, INC. CONSULTING ENGINEERS April 11, 1989 Mr. Karl D. Hirschey Cajun Contractors, Inc. P.O. aox 540487 \ Dallas, Texas 75354-0487 Re: Village Parkway Pump Station City of Coppell, Texas Dear Mr. Hirschey: We must take exception to Mr. Durbin's letter of April 4, 1989 regarding the grout between the carrier and encasement pipes on the 36" influent line. The detail on Sheet SD17 is quite specific on the need for and location of grout inside the casing. The placement of grout on this project is not per our direction, it is per the requirements of the Contract Documents signed by Cajun Contractors, Inc. for this project. As for the welding of joints at certain bends on the influent line, we strongly encourage you to investigate this possibility. Adjacent utility conflicts and the location of the waterline may not allow sufficient room for the thrust blocks to be contained within the easement as required. Your vendor, United Concrete Pipe Corporation, can provide the necessary description, technical guidance, and quantity of welds required to restrain thrust at any bend along the pipeline. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Sincerely, Sanford W. Case, Project Manager cc: ~~.t],..i~.J~_.. Steve Goram Gabe Favre J.R.
