This variance is requested by Linda G!idewell, representative for the City of Coppell, for the property located at i40 Kimbel Kourt. EXPLANATION: A water pumping station is currently being constructed by the City of Coppe!l at 110! Village Parkway. State law requires a 6 foot high chain link fence with three strands of barbed wire to be erected around the facility. The City's fence regulations prohibit barbed wire fences from being erected in residentially zoned areas. Since the property on which the pumping station is located is zoned residential, a variance is required before the fence can be erected. STAFF RECOMMENDATIOn: State law requires that a security fence be placed around the project. If the fence is not erected the facility can not be legally utilized. Staff recommends approval.
