CF-Village-CS 890213 GINN, INC. CONSULTING ENGINEERS February 13, 1989 Mr. Karl D. Hirschey Cajun Contractors, Inc. P.O. Box 540487 Dallas, Texas 75354-0487 Re: Village Parkway Pump Station City of Coppell, Texas Dear Mr. Hirschey: / We wish to take exception to Mr. Durbin's letter of February' 9, 1989 regarding the tapping sleeve to be used on the 16" waterline at Kimbal Kourt and Sandy Lake Road. No tapping sleeve has ever been submitted or approved for use at this location. Submittal No. 4A covered only the 16" tapping valve. Our clarification to Mr. Durbin was that a cut-in tee could not be used at this location; therefore, a tapping sleeve would be required as shown on the plans. Since the line was concrete cylinder pipe, he should make the necessary arrangements to properly tap the line. Our records do not indicate advising Cajun that the 16" waterline was ductile iron. We have not approved any ductile iron fittings for this hot tap. Upon receipt of a submittal indicating the desired fittings to be used for this tie-in, we will review for compliance with the plans and specifications. At this time, we do not see any reason for an extension or delay of contract time. Please call if you have any questions. Sincerely, / Sanford W. Case, P.E. Russell Doyle Steve Goram H.
