At the request of Mr. David Carlton of Dowdy, Anderson and .Associaties, a repr~esantative
of our fcrttt visited the above refe~noed site. The requested purpose of our site visit wars to
observe exposed ntateriaLs on proposard Cambridge Isar Lane nom of Deforest Road and
to provide expanded opituons as to dse stabiliza-tivn teclsnic}ues included in our lime series
letter dated August 4, 1994.
Observed from Deforest kLoad to Stagy 3 +QO on Cambrsdge Motor Lane vrrerc seedy sails.
A sample previously tested from this area and repox~d in our August 4, 19941ettar indicated
soils ui be non-plastic. Based on t~+s rMU1t, it its our apiauan lime as stabilizing inatarial may
cause difficulty in compaction assd moisture conri~tioeirrg of pavea~xmt subgrede. As
previously indicated, it is our opaas~e~r that eons~cbra~ion may be given tQ cieleticm of
starbilizatioxt in this section of Cie Manor Lava.
~£ stabilization is required by otkers, we recomrnenied consideration be givea~ to cement
stabilization. $ased o our expet-iearce with noon-pla~c so;ilC, we estimate six (5) percent
cement (approximately 7 pounds parr square yard for a six (6) inch shrbilized layer) wiU
