Dear Mr. Grit'fin:
With this letter, we are requesting a variance to the standard City requirements for lime stabilized
subgrade in the drive approach and flrelane to be constructed with the aforementioned project.
We would like to have the following options:
6", 4000 psi concrete, reinforced with #3 bars at 24" o.c.e.w. Subgrade to be scarified to
a depth of 6" and recompacted to a minimum density of 95% of Standard Proctor at a
moisture content between -1 and +3% of optimum.
7", 3000 psi concrete, reinforced with #3 bars at 24" o.c.e.w. Subgrade to be scarified to
a depth of 6" and recompacted to a minimum density of 95% of Standard Proctor at a
moisture content between -1 and +3% of optimum.
Our intent is to place all three options on the paving plan, in order to enable the contractor to select the
most economical section at the time of construction.
