Re: Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church - File No. 8594
Dear Mr. Doyle:
The Church has requested that we review the drawings and
specifications for a more cost effective program for building the
Church. The following revision to the original design is requested:
1. The storm sewer drain pipe on the south side of the Church,
Line "Q", may be omitted in this Phase of construction and installed
later in Phase 2. The storm sewer on the north, Line "P", is being
installed in Phase 1, and will improve the site drainage adequately to
allow the later installation of Line "Q". The area does drain, though
is very flat, and the Church would have to avoid any activities in
this area after heavy £ains. With the Church being aware of this
situation, it seems reasonable to allow the storm sewer to be
installed at a future date.
We look forward to your acceptance of this construction cost
reduction, and the Church does plan for adequate maintenance to ensure
the site is attractive for the community.
Yours sincerely,
President

Re: Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church - File No. 8594
Dear Mr. Jackson:
The Church has requested that we review the drawings and
specifications for a more cost effective program for building the
Church. The following revision to the original design is requested:
1. The concrete fire lane may be 5" thick, 3000 P.S.I.
concrete, #3 reinforcing at 24" c.c., and installed on 6" of 6% lime
compacted subgrade. The fire lane has adequate slope for drainage and
the Church plans to maintain the surface well, so that good fire
protection can be provided for the facility.
We look forward to your acceptance of this construction cost
reduction, and the Church does plan to pave the parking areas in Phase
2 to ensure the site functions well for the congregation.
Yours sincerely,
Pete Hennessey,

Pavements could then consist of $ inches of adequately reinforced
concrete tn both light duty and hea~' 'truck traffic areas. All
concrete for pavements should have a 28-day design strength of at
least 3,000 psi.
The calculations used to determine the required pavement thickness are
based on only physical and engineering properties of the materials and
conventional thickness determination ,procedures. Related civil design
factors such as subgrade ~lratnage, Shoulder' support, cross-sectional
configurations, surface elevattons,"retnforcing steel, Joint design
and, environmental factors will significantly affect the service 11fe
and must be included in the preparation of the c:onstructed drawings
and specifications,
Adequate drainage should be provided at the site to reduce seasonal
variations in moisture content of the foundation soils. All pavements
or sidewalks should be sloped a~ay fro~ the butldtng to prevent
pending of water around the foundation.
In'order to enhance the performance of Slabs underlain by select fill
.at this 'site, it is essential that every reasonable precaution be

the select fill. Past problems have:,.?b.~ee, noted with slabs underlain
