In honor of Jackie White, a long time Coppell resident and City employee, City Council was recently
approached about the possibility of renaming the Service Center to the Jackie W. White Service Center.
Based on positive reaction by the City Council, a Resolution has been drafted to officially change the//
name of the Service Center to the Jackie W. White Service Center. Upon approval of the Resolutioi~,
the signage at the Service Center will be changed and also information will be placed inside the Service
Center about Jackie White. Nickie White will be at the Council Meeting to be presented the Resolution.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS,
RENAMING THE SERVICE CENTER ON DE FOREST ROAD TO THE "JACKll~ W.
WHITE SERVICE CENTER."
WHEREAS, Jackie White worked for the City from June 1974 to July 1993, was a dedicated
employee, a local businessman, a loyal friend; and
WHEREAS, During those early years with the City, Jackie was asked to assume a variety
of jobs in what was still a small and rural community; and
WHEREAS, In the words of his coworkers, Jackie was a man who loved to fix things and
who, as a mechanic, had a knack for making old worn-out equipment work; and
WHEREAS, With limited resources and materials, Jackie was skillful enough to be able to
make things operate, and generous enough to do City work with his own tools; and
WHEREAS, Jackie never took part in negative conversation with or about anyone, and he
was known to help anyone with anything; and
WHEREAS, Outside the workplace, Jackie was a good fisherman who loved to fish.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Coppell,
Texas hereby renames the Service Center on De Forest Road to the
"JACKIE W. WHITE SERVICE CENTER"
