RE: Andy Brown Park East Erosion Control & Alex Drive Canal Rehab
Dear Resident:
The City Council recently awarded a contract to JDK Associates, Inc. to perform erosion
control improvements for the east bank of the canal south of Parkway Blvd., both sides of
the canal north of Parkway Blvd, and the entire perimeter of the Andy Brown East Lake.
See the attached map for more information on the location of the work.
This project is being jointly managed by the engineering and parks department. The
work will consist of removal and replacement of the entire canal wall along the east edge
of the canal south of Parkway, and construction of new walls and edge treatment along
the lake edge and both sides of the canal north of Parkway Blvd. All walls will be a stack
block wall with a milsap blend color.

Construction on the project will begin as early as Monday April 8, and is expected to
last through September. The contract includes incentives for timely completion of the

improvements associated with the park. The city plans to host the July 4 celebration at
Andy Brown, and as such has asked the contractor to expedite this portion of the project.
The city inspector for the project will be Albert Samaniego. His number is 469-576-1458;
