SWM-CS 990323FEEMS North Central Texas Council Of Governments V DATE: March 23, 1999 TO: Interested Individuals in the Grapevine and Denton Creek Watersheds FROM: Jack Tidwell Senior Environmental Planner & Trinity Programs Team Leader SUBJECT: Follow. -up Discussion regarding potential Grapevine/Denton Creek Project through the Upper Trinity River Feasibility Study Recently, meetings have: been held at the Grapevine Lake Operations Center and the Grapevine Community Activities Center to talk about the watershed and the possibility of pursuing a cooperative watershed activity through the Upper Trinity River Feasibility Study. Local government representatives present discussed the area local government opportunity to take advantage of the potential federal interest to address issues like "flood damage reduction, water quality, environmental restoration, recreation and other allied purposes." As the meetings closed, those present indicated their initial interest and were asked to assess their community interest and determine who might need to be added to the discussion group. We have set a meeting to follow -up on these issues. The meeting will be held ON: April 01„ 1999 AT: 2:00p to 4:00p IN: Grapevine Community Activities Center For discussion purposes USACE staff has produced some draft work scope information based on the comments of the meetings so far. Their scoping effort includes all of the flooding, water quality, environmental, and recreation issues associated with the larger Upper Trinity Study. This information will be provided at the meeting. NCTCOG staff will be coordinate the meeting and is happy to answer any questions you might have regarding this opportunity.
