Request for Engineering Services for Andrew Brown Community Park, east
The purpose of this memorandum is to request your assistance in providing engineering
design and cost analysis for the completion of the parking lot which is located at Andrew
Brown, Jr. Community Park, east of Denton Tap Road.
During a recent tour of park facilities in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Board,
members of the City Council and the City Manager directed staff to come forward with a
proposal from Rodman Excavation to produce a change order for the completion of the
parking lot, which runs along Parkway Boulevard.
In order for the contractor to provide a change order in this matter, it will be necessary to
provide a design for these improvements. This would include site grading work, parking lot
design, and drainage improvements needed for this work.
In an effort to be as cost effective as possible for this project, I would ask if the work
described above could be performed by City Engineering personnel. The Public Works
Department would provide any existing plans, documents or assistance necessary to ensure
this project's success.
Please look at this project and see what assistance might be available from the Engineering
Department. A time schedule would be helpful in determining when a cost proposal could be
obtained from the park contractor.
I would appreciate a written reply on this request by August 12, 1994. Thank you for your
