The Honorable Tom Morton
Mayor, City of Coppell
P. O. Box 478
Coppell, Texas 75019
Dear Mayor Morton:
Please reference our November 4, 1993, letter to you regarding your
Communi-ty's continued eligibility in the National Flood Insurance program.
This letter serves as a reminder to ensure that your Community continues its
eligibility in the National Flood Insurance Program. Revision of your
Community's local floodplain management regulations to equal or exceed the
criteria stated in 44 CFR, Chapter I, Part 60.3(d) is the prerequisite for
continued eligibility. An acceptable ordinance must be adopted prior to the
effective date of the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), which is April 15,
1994. If you wish comments prior to adoption of the ordinance, we will be
glad to review a draft copy to ensure that all the minimum requirements have
been included. Upon adoption of the ordinance, please submit one (1)
certified copy of the approved ordinance to our office four (4) weeks prior to
the effective date of the FIRM. This will allow sufficient time for proper
review and notification to our Washington Office.
Again, if you should have any questions or require any assistance, please
contact this office at (817) 898 -9127.
