Thank you for taking the time to discuss our most recent proof copy of the floodplain insurance
rate map dated October 15, 11993. It is my understanding that this map can be used for
floodplain management purposes i.e. elevations. However, until the map is official it cannot be
utilized for floodplain insurance purposes.
As we discussed on the telephone, the City does have several areas of concern on the map.
Those basically involve the city limits on the northwest and southeast side of town. Also, we
discussed an area around Lake Park Addition where the floodplain appears to be drawn
incorrectly. I am enclosing a copy of the proof map with these areas shown on the map.
Basically, not including the Creekview Addition, there are three areas where the City has
concerns with the floodplain limits and there are two areas where we have concerns with the
corporate city limits.
Any assistance that can be provided in making these minor changes to the flood insurance rate
maps will be greatly appreciate. If you should have any questions please feel free to contact
