City Engineer City of Coppell 255 Parkway Boulevard Coppell, Texas 75019 Re: October 15, 1993 Proof Draft of the proposed Flood Insurance Study For the City of Coppell Dear Ken: I have briefly reviewed the above referenced Flood Insurance Rate Map. I have noticed a few areas of concern based on my knowledge of Coppell. 1. The southeast corner of Cowboy Drive and Parkway Boulevard appears in the flood plain. The elevation of this intersection is 468± to 469 ±. The 100 -year water surface is 463.5 ±. 2. A minor error in elevation was noticed for the minor branch of Denton Creek, approximately 1000' north of Parkway Boulevard and 500' east of Coppell Road. The elevation shown is 446. I think the intent was to show an elevation of 466. 3. A significant area of land immediately east of the Service Center is shown to be inundated by the 100 -year storm, however, the 1992 aerial topography (issued in 1993) shows that some of the property is 0' to 3' above the water surface of 452 ±. Mr. Kenneth Griffin October 19, 1993 Page 2 4. We have been working for over a year to correct the error which affects the Gibb's Station subdivision. The October 16, 1991 FIRM more correctly shows the situation. We have provided recent aerial topographic confirmation of our "As- Built" situation to assist you in reviewing this area.
