revision to the Flood Insurance Rate Map and /or Flood Boundary and Floodway
Map for the referenced community. Our previous letter regarding your request
stated that we would inform you in writing if we needed additional data to
complete our evaluation. The enclosed list describes the data we need. A

for a Flood Insurance Study (FIS)/
Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) Revision

To assist you in preparing the data required to process the request for an
FIS /FIRM revision, we are enclosing copies of the following:

Appeals, Revisions. and Amendments to Flood Insurance Maps, A Guide
for Community Officials, dated January 1990
Guidelines and Specifications for Study Contractors, dated March 1991
"Conditions and Criteria for Map Revisions," dated December 30, 1985
"Conditions and Criteria for Floodway Revisions," dated August 27,
1984
The data listed below must be provided before we can process your request for
an FIS /FIRM revision.
1. Please submit evidence that the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the
City of Coppell, or an official designated by the CEO, agrees with
the request to revise the floodway.
2. Please submit a, copy of the public notice distributed by the City of
Coppell stating; the community's intent to revise the floodway or a
statement by the community that it has notified all affected property
owners and affected adjacent jurisdictions.
3. In a letter dated July 21, 1992, submitted by Mr. Richard Hovas,
P.E., Mr. Hovas states that public notice for the City of Carrollton
was published on June 4, 1992, in the Metrocrest News. Please
provide a copy of this public notice distributed by the City of

Carrollton, stating the domMuhit:y''s intent to revise the floodway, or
a statement by the community that it has notified all affected
property owners and affected adjacent jurisdictions.
4. Certification of fill compaction to 95% of the maximum density
obtainable with the Standard Proctor Test method issued by the
American Society for Testing and Materials must be submitted before
the Special Flood Hazard Area can be removed from the FIRM.
5. Please submit a topographic map that shows the revised 100 -year
floodplain and 100 -year floodway boundaries, the locations and
alignments of all cross sections used in the revised hydraulic
models, stream alignments, road alignments, and the community
boundaries. The revised 100 -year floodplain and 100 -year floodway
boundaries must: tie into those shown on the preliminary FIRM dated
April 17, 1992, upstream and downstream of the revised reach. The
scale and topographic definition of the map must be sufficient to
provide reasonable accuracy, and the map must be certified by a
registered professional engineer. (See Paragraphs 65.6(a)(11) and
65.7(b)(5) of the National Flood Insurance Program regulations.
