Street, SW., Room 422 Washington, DC 20472 RE: GRAND /LAKES OF COPPELL III FEMA CASE NUMBER 92- 06 -037R ✓� TEI FILE NO. 3344 Dear Ms. Davis: k�1lD By letter dated April 28, 1992, your office sent a data request check list which identified additional items required for your review of the Villages of Coppell - Phases III and IV request for a conditional letter of map revision (LOMR). Item 11 of the check list requested a general description of the proposed hydraulic conditions, including channel modifications or other projects on which the conditional revision request is based. The Villages of Coppell, Phases III and IV is a single family residential development that is bordered to the North and East by Denton Creek. The Northerly side of the site currently is within a 100 -foot wide, shallow inundation, flood -fringe area. This area is proposed to be filled to reclaim it from the 100 -year floodplain. A gabion retaining wall will be constructed at the property line to prevent the toe of fill from extending onto an adjacent public road (Deforest Road). Denton Creek cross sections 18440, 19330 and 19930 reflect the proposed changes along this Northerly property line (see exhibit "C" Sheet 1). On the Easterly site of the property Denton Creek meanders along the back of the lots off of Parker Drive (see Exhibit "B "). This side of the creek is the high bank, generally confining the flow within the main stream of the creek. The opposite bank is the low bank which opens to a 6000 foot wide flood plain that is shared with the Elm Fork of the Trinity River.
