This is in reference to a December 15, 1988 letter, and "as- built" construc-
tion plans of the Magnolia project along Denton Creek submitted by Mr. Russell
R. Doyle, P.E., City Engineer for the City of Coppell. In his letter, which
was forwarded to us by our Region VI office, Mr. Doyle requested on behalf of
Lichliter /Jameson and Associates, Inc., that the Flood Insurance Study and
Flood Insurance Rate Map for the City of Coppell he revised to reflect the
"as- built" conditions of this project.
Since this project involved the channelization of Denton Creek, written
documentation that the community will uphold its responsibility for assuring
that the channel is main acne In or er to -Preserve is design unction is
required. This requirement was specified in our December 11, 1986 conditional
Letter of Map Revision. As outlined in the National Flood Insurance Program
requlatio Part 65.6 (a)(12), the documentation may he in the form of a
written s atement from the Community Chief Executive Officer, an ordinance, or
other legislative action, and shall describe the nature of the maintenance
activit s`-6o he performed, the frequency with which they will be performed,
and the title of the local community official who will be responsible for
assuring that the maintenance activities are accomplished.
This documentation must be provided within 30 days of the date of this letter

The case number referenced above should be included on any further corre-
spondence regarding this request. Further actior_ on this request has been
suspended pending receipt of the specified documentation. After receiving the
required documentation regarding the maintenance of the channelized portion
of Denton Creek, we will continue our evaluation of the request. If additional
information is required to complete our evaluation, we will inform you.
