Scope of Project:
New 12” water line – New services & meter cans for school & houses that front
Mockingbird.
New 8” Sewer line – new sewer services with cleanout at property line for houses that front
Mockingbird.
New Paving – 9” thick with compacted subgrade 38’ back to back.
Sidewalk – 4’ both sides – ADA requirements of 5’x5’ passing area every 200 feet will be
met by the addition of passing areas.
Funding Source:
¼ cent sales tax allocated to streets during November 2007 election, and reauthorized in 2011.
Contract amount - $987,155.00 with $60,000 potential bonus for early completion
Schedule
:
Project to begin on or about April 22, 2013. 175 Calendar Day max schedule, providing for an
October 2013 completion date. $20,000 allocated for early completion bonus. $1,000 per day
penalty for late completion.
Access:
Two way traffic will be maintained through the last day of school, June 5th. Beginning as early
th
as June 6 traffic will be restricted to one-way northbound. One-way traffic will be maintained
th
through August 25, when all paving is to be complete. Two-way traffic will be re-established
th
prior to the start of school on August 26. A $40,000 incentive has been established if the
contractor is able to meet this schedule. A $2,000 per day penalty will be assessed if the
contractor is unable to have all paving open to traffic and sidewalk to the school property open
th
by August 25.
