Dear Resident:
This letter is to inform you of changes to your ability to park directly in front of your house at
301 N. Heartz. Currently there is a "No Parking" sign approximately 10-15 feet from the stop
sign at Heartz Rd. and Parkway Blvd. According to the Texas Transportation Code:
Sec. 545.302. "STOPPING, STANDING, OR PARKING PROHIBITED IN
CERTAIN PLACES. ... (b) An operator may not, except momentarily to pick up
or discharge a passenger, stand or park an occupied or unoccupied vehicle: ...
(4) within 30 feet of the approach to a flashing signal, stop sign, yield sign, or
traffic-control signal located at the side of a roadway;... "
Based on citizen complaints and observations by City Staff, the City will proceed to remove the
existing sign and place a "No Parking within 30 ft" sign under the stop sign at the intersection.
After the new sign is in place, it will be an infraction of the Transportation Code to park within
that 30 foot area.
Since this directly affects your ability to park in front of your house, staff felt it necessary to let
