TDH Log No. 810/5
Dallas County~ Texas
Dear Mr. Case:
We have completed review of ~6 shee~s of drawin~s~ an engineering report
and a separately bound volume of speciftca~ions which were submitted for
review with your September 30, 1988 letter. These documents describe the
construction of ~he City of Coppell's new village Parkway Pump Station and
a supportin~ 36 inch pretensioned concrete cylinder (PCCP) supply line
which will feed ~his fac/li~¥ from a poin~ o£ connect/on ~o ~he City o£
Dallas Water system. The pump station~ which will be located southeast of
the inte~section of Village Parkway and Kimbel Kou~t; will initially
consist of a ~ m~ p~est~essed, wi~e-wound, tone,ere ~Found s~oFa~e tank
which is now unde~ const~uu~ion; a mete~in~ vault, a 6~ foot by 81.5
pump and control buildin~, three 500 bp, 7,000 ~pm, high service pumps,
yard pipin~ plan~ and system controls and an intruder resistant fence
enclosure. The pump station site and pump building are configured such
that an additional q m~ ~allon reservoir can be constructed in the future
and a fourth service pump installed in the exi$%in~ pipin~ In order
supply this pump station, the City will construct a 2,200 linear feet, 36
inch diameter, PCCP supply line alon8 Village Parkway from the existin8
City of Dallas rate-of-flow controller at the Sandy Lake Road Pump Station
to the new ~ m~ reservoir. Althoush no rechlorination facilities are bein6
provided at this time, we understand that the City is prepared ~o add such
facilities in the future if they become necessary. In such an event,
rechlorination facilities would be housed in a separate buildin~
Our review has indicated that these facilities were designed in accordance
with generally accepted engineering practices and this Department's
Standards and we would, therefore, not object to construction. As
discussed during our October 11, 1988, telephone conversation, however, the
City should obtain a chlorine test kit (if one is not already available) to

monitor chlorine residuals in the remote parts of its distribution system
and be prepared to install rechlorination facilities at the Village Parkway
Pump Station before a major problem develops.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance~
Sincerely~
