Re: Village Parkway Pump Station
Dual Service Power
Dear Mr. Doyle:
Per your request, we have investigated the possibility of
reducing the cost of providing dual service power facilities to
the Village Parkway Pump Station. The dual primary service with
one set of transformers proposed by T.U. Electric could subject
the station to a considerable power outage in the event of a
transformer failure. It is our opinion that the reduced
facilities will not satisfy the State Board of Insurance or Texas
Department of Health regulations.
We feel that the estimate of $65,000 by T.U. Electric to provide
full dual service power is reasonable and within the project
budget. The cost of auxiliary generation facilities would be
much higher.
We feel it is in the City of Coppell's best interest to pursue
the full dual service power agreement at this time. We are
including the comments of our electrical sub-consultant for your
review.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Sanford W Case, P.E .... ~~"~'~
