Ms. Lawson,
I spoke with Ms. Carter a few minutes ago. She will be sending me a settlement statement for review.
She is basing this statement on the $30,645.00 originally offered by the city.
In your email from 3/22/10 you mention a landscape budget for your use in replacing some of the trees
that will be removed for the construction. Rather than setting up a landscape budget, I would propose to
compensate you $500 per tree for the loss. From my count there are 9 trees, for a total additional
compensation of $4,500.
There has also been considerable discussion on fencing. I know you have been working with our Building
Inspections department on where, how, and when you can build a fence. I understand your desire to
screen your property from both the roadway as it moves closer to your house, and from the pedestrian cut
through traffic. To that end, the city proposes to offer an additional amount of $25.19 per foot of frontage
along Sandy Lake Road This would provide additional compensation in the amount of $4,855.
These two additional i�6ms would result in a total offer of $40,000 for acquisition of the Right of Way
(ROW). The fencing- "and landscaping could then be done at a time of your choosing
If these numbers are ameptable, please let me know, and I will send you a formal off letter to be signed
by both of us and forwarded to Ms. Carter to set a time and date for closing.
