The sidewalk/trail easement would simply give us the right to construct and maintain the sidewalk/trail on property owned by Verizon. This would also give pedestrians the right to use the trail on your property. This will not convey any rights for the city, or any other utility, to construct any subsurface improvements. You will continue to enjoy all other rights of ownership. If your legal departments wants to modify the language of these documents, we'll be happy to look at their suggestions. Included is an offer of compensation based on the appraised value as determined from the Dallas County Appraisal District. This offer is to acquire right of way from two parcels of land owned by Verizon on West Sandy lake Road and two easements to allow the construction of an 8' sidewalk adjacent to the right of way. We previously staked the right of way and called for utility locates for the staked area. We met with Stefani Wilkinson and Carl Shipman to review the areas, and it was determined that Verizon had no utilities within the area that would need to be relocated. In April we sent an offer to purchase 2 parcels of Right of Way, and two additional easements from the Verizon property at 201 and 197 W. Sandy Lake. To date we have not received a response.
