Dear Resident:
Notification of Construction
At the May 28, 2013 City Council meeting a contract was awarded to Tiseo Paving Company to
reconstruct Sandy Lake Road from the Denton Tap intersection to the North Coppell Road
intersection. This project will involve the complete reconstruction and widening of the road from
two lanes to four lanes with a median and turn lanes. An exhibit showing the project limits is
enclosed with this announcement letter.
The existing asphalt roadway will be removed and replaced with concrete pavement with curbs and
improved drainage. A sidewalk will be constructed along the north side and the south side will
contain a hike and bike trail. The two lane bridge over Cottonwood Creek will be expanded to four
lanes with sidewalk on both sides. The intersection of Sandy Lake Road and South Coppell Road
will be signalized as well.
The completed project will improve traffic conditions, safety, pedestrian access and drainage.
Residents and motorists will encounter inconveniences during construction, which will be
addressed during the upcoming meeting.
Announcement of Public Meeting
In an effort to introduce this project to residents before construction begins, we will
host a public meeting on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at Town Center, 255
Parkway Boulevard. Construction plans will be available for review in the Town
Center atrium that evening. City of Coppell Engineering staff, contractor
representatives and the design engineering team will be available to discuss any
questions or concerns before and after the meeting.
