RE: UTILITY COORDINATION MEETING
A meeting has been scheduled for July 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. to discuss upcoming municipal
construction projects within the City of Coppell. The City is particularly interested in
discussing the following projects scheduled to start construction in mid to late 2013 and
continue into 2014:

held in the Main Conference Room located at 265 Parkway Boulevard. You or a

II. Permits
A. Need to identify on permit how the utility has been abandoned: •
1. Abandoned in place or
2. Abandoned by removal.
This will help the contractor and the inspector during construction. Inspector has seen places
where the conduit is left in place and the new facilities are installed below in a different colored
conduit.
B. Need to submit a Right-of-Way Use permit prior to commencing and a Completion Verification
Notice when the relocations are complete.
III. Access to the latest plans
The latest plans for the following projects will be available on our FTP site through August 1,
2013. If you don't see the plans you're looking for, please contact the City contact for the project.
You can access the City of Coppell FTP site by using the following link:

Anonymous access is currently allowed,thus no password is required.
The plans you need are located in a folder named for the street.

IV. Sandy Lake Road ST 99-02 (Coppell Road North to Denton Tap)
This project is under construction. All utility relocations should be complete,or nearing
completion.

Mockingbird Lane
This project involves reconstruction of residential streets within the same footprint of the existing
street. No additional ROW is needed.
This project is under construction. Construction is anticipated to be complete by September.

VI. Creekview Drive DR 12-01
This project involves bank stabilization and reconstruction of Creekview Drive between Royal
Lane and Freeport Parkway.
This project is under construction. Construction is anticipated to be complete by late October.

VII. Bethel Road II ST03-01B
(MitchelUS. Coppell to Penfolds Drive and Coppell Road from Bethel to Cooper Lane)
This project represents the remaining portion of Bethel Road and Coppell Road. The plans
currently stand at 90%.
This project will be bid once all utility relocations have taken place.. Construction is anticipated to
begin late this year. The City is currently installing some fiber optic communication duct within the
project limits.

VIII. Freeport Parkway ST 05-02A(Ruby Road to Sandy Lake)
Right of Way acquisition is nearly complete on this project. One parcel remains to be acquired,
and the city has an agenda item on tonight's City Council meeting to proceed with condemnation..
The plans stand at 90%,and will be made available via FTP.
Construction is anticipated to begin this year.

IX. Freeport Parkway ST 05-02B(Sandy Lake to SH121)
This project will consist of building a new stretch of Freeport Parkway between Sandy Lake Road
and SH121. Intersections exist at both connection points,and the road will connect those two
points. Negotiations are under way with the land owner for access rights and acquisition.

Southern Belle
This project involves reconstruction of residential streets within the same footprint of the existing
street. No additional ROW is needed. This project is in the final design stages, and will be
advertised for bid in August,with construction beginning this fall.

Sandy Lake Road Pavement Repair(Denton Tap to Kimbel Kourt)
This project involves extensive repairs to Sandy Lake Road between Denton Tap and Kimbel
Kourt east of MacArthur. This project is in the final design stages,and will be advertised for bid in
August, with construction beginning this fall. No pavement widening will take place, and no
movement of utilities is anticipated.

street. No additional ROW is needed. Design is progressing. There may be relocation of street
light poles or other surface features required.
Construction will begin on these projects this fall.
