Reference: Thannel aintenance Dredging of Denton Creek Flood Control
Dear Mr. Martiri:
Please find endlosed with this letter a set of construction plans for the above - referenced
project.
As you may recall from our previous conversations, the Denton County Levee Improvement
District No. 1 is planning to remove accumulated sediment from the Denton Creek Flood
Control Chann I. The material will be taken to a 24 -acre site in Lewisville at the southwest
corner of Highway 121 and Interstate 35E. No permanent fill will be placed within the
floodplain of Denton Creek.
The construction plans show the proposed final cross section of the channel after the
dredging is completed. The plans also show that we will limit access to the channel by the
contractor from the south side. The contractor will only be able to access the channel from
designated areas on the north side.
The project will involve one conflict with the hike and bike trail. This conflict is located on
District property, but the City of Coppell has an easement for the trail. The location of the
conflict is a 10 - foot -wide strip on the northwest corner of the MacArthur Blvd. bridge.
Please review ese plans and contact me if you have any questions. We stand ready to
complete the city's floodplain development forms when you are ready to receive them.
Sincerely,
CARTER & BU GESS, INC.
