Consider approval of an Ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances by repealing Article 15 -9, Property
Maintenance Code, in its entirety and by adding a new Article 15 -14 to provide the adoption of the International
Property Maintenance Code, 20p6 Edition, and the amendments thereto; and authorizing the Mayor to sign.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
When this ordinance was originolly passed, it was given the Code reference of 15 -9 which was already taken by the
Thoroughfare Plan. This ordinance removes the Property Maintenance Code from Section 15 -9 and places it at
Section 15 -14.

ORDINANCE NO.20og
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COPPELL, TEXAS,
AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY READOPTING
AND RE CODIFYING .ARTICLE 15 -9 PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF THE COPPELL THOROUGHFARE PLAN;
PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A
SEVERAOILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE.
WHEREA S, by clerical error, Article 15 -9, Coppell Thoroughfare Plan, of the
Code was removed and replaced with the adoption of the Property Maintenance Code,
which should havejbeen codified as Article 15 -14; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the Code should be amended
to correct the erro described herein by readopting and recodifying Article 15 -9, Coppell
Thoroughfare Plan.
NOW TH�REFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
COPPELL, TEXAS, THAT:
1. That Article 15 -9, "Coppell Thoroughfare Plan", of the Code of
Ordinances be, ar�d the same is, hereby readopted and recodified, which shall read as
follows: I
"ARTICLE 15 -9. COPPELL THOROUGHFARE PLAN
Sec. 15 -9 -t. Coppell Thoroughfare Plan - Adopted.
That ertain Ordinance 90489 and attachments thereto, a copy of
which is On file in the office of the city secretary, being marked and
designated! as "Coppell Thoroughfare Plan," is hereby designated as a
special code of the City of Coppell, Texas.
Sec. 15 -9 -1. Maintained as a separate code.
The C ppell Thoroughfare Plan Code of the City of Coppell adopted
by Ordin ce 90489 shall, because of its size, be maintained in the office
of the city! secretary as a separate "special code" apart from this General
Code."

SECTION 2. That all provisions of the Ordinances of the City of Coppell,
Texas, in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby,
repealed, and all o�her provisions of the Ordinances of the City not in conflict with the

provisions of this drdinance shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION �3. That should any word, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase or section of this ordinance, or of the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, be
adjudged or held tO be void or unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions Iof said ordinance or the Code of Ordinances, as amended hereby, which
shall remain in full Iforce and effect.
SECTION 4. T hat this ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage as the law Ond charter in such cases provide.
