CONSULTING ENGINEER'S CONTRACT
MODIFICATION TO THE SCOPE OF SERVICES
AMENDMENT#7
I. Scope of Work
THWEATT PARK TRAIL (ENGINEERING)
TNP shall provide professional civil engineering services, as outlined below, for completing the
preparation of design plans for the West Sandy Lake Road reconstruction project. This
modification is for additional services associated with the existing contract. The portion of
roadway between North Coppell Road and South Coppell Road (also referred to as Phase 2A) is
adjacent to Thweatt Park and entails the design of an 8-foot wide trail that diverges away from
the roadway and meanders through the park before connecting to a trail along South Coppell
Road. The following are anticipated additions to the scope of work:
• Additional meetings and correspondence with City representatives including Parks
Department.
• Provide ADA complaint park trail alignment from the new Sandy Lake Bridge, arching to
the south side of the existing pond and connecting with the new City sidewalk/trail a North
Coppell Road-Sandy Lake intersection;
o The proposed alignment shall be established in attempt to protect/preserve
existing trees;
o The alignment will be field verified once staked by the contractor prior to
construction;
• Engineering considerations for traversing the existing earthen pond spillway, including the
addition of a culvert or low water crossing of the spillway:
o Evaluation of the existing morning glory structure is excluded;
• Erosion control measures needed/expected;
• Evaluating/Addressing the PVC pond liner leak (liner damage is anticipated in the eastern
third section of the pond).
THWEATT PARK TRAIL (SURVEYING)
• Additional topographic survey of the remainder of Thweatt Park to establish existing
contours within the park;
• Additional tree survey of trees 6-inch diameter and larger to help in defining grading and
routing options that minimize impacts to existing trees within park;
TRAIL EASEMENTS
TNP shall provide additional survey services as needed in order to prepare necessary easements
documents for Trail/Sidewalk located between Whispering hills and Georgian Drive. For the
purposes of this proposal it is understood that a maximum of 7 easements will be required.
II. Compensation
The Engineers contract shall be paid an additional lump sum fee as detailed below:
Thweatt Park Engineering $8,500
Thweatt Park Surveying $1,500
Trail Easements(7 easements at $1.500 each) $10.500
