❖ Scope of Project:
• This project consists of the complete removal and replacement of Sandy Lake Road from
Denton Tap Road to North Coppell Road.
• Remove existing 24' wide asphalt street, and replace it with 4-land divided roadway
consisting of a 25' B-B concrete pavement section in each direction, with a typical 16' B-B
median, for a total paving section of 66' wide.
• New 5' wide sidewalk along the north side of the road.
• New 8' wide "hike &bike trail" along the south side of the road. This trail will tie into the
trail built along South Coppell Road running down past Wilson Elementary towards Old
Town Coppell. The trail will also connect to the existing trail at North Coppell Road and
Sandy Lake that currently runs along Denton Creek and connects to Andy Brown Park.
• Elimination of the "barrow ditch" drainage along the sides of the road, and installation of a
sub-surface collection and conveyance system.
• Removal and replacement of the bridge over Cottonwood Creek.
❖ Removal of additional trees between Coppell Road North and Coppell Road South.
• Removal of the 1967 vintage water and sewer lines, and replacement of the sewer. The water
lines will be connected to the 24"water line that runs the length of the project that was built
in 1999/2000.
