On completion of grouting, the anchor 3AE bar assembly was pulled up by ARK (above the Row 2 gabions)so that only about 22'of penetration into shale was actually reinforced with 1-1/4'bar.5'of penetration into shale(below anchor assembly)was not reinforced with threaded bar. *** Considerable water and sloughing of sandy soils above shale encountered by ARK during drilling of 3C.Gray water and mud coated anchor bar assembly during insertion into 3C shaft.Based on ARK's extra effort to push AUG-15-2013 22:31 P.02 Texas CMT,Inc. Project No.213-0134 Page 2 of 2 Project: Creekview Drive Anchor Observation Report No.10 Report Date:August 16,2013 anchor bar assembly into bottom of hole, tech estimated 3'of sloughing mud was present at bottom of hole prior to grouting.Based on this estimate only 24'of actual grouted penetration was achieved for anchor 3C. **** Due to complications with augers bouncing off the top ofthe shale the 3B anchor ended up being drilled at about 50 degrees above the horizontal plane.Considerable water, liquifaction and sloughing was encountered above the shale at anchor 313.Estimated 2'maximum radius by 6'deep of sloughing at top of this anchor. On completion of drilling operation gray muddy water was measured at 7'below top of Row 2.Approximate 12"diameter by 10' piece of PVC was inserted into top of hole.Augers were then sent down hole again to attempt to clean out some ofthe sloughing in this shaft and to allow insertion of anchor bar assembly.Tech estimated 2'A'of sloughing mud was still present at bottom of anchor 3B, so net reinforced penetration was about 27'. cc: Mr.Larry Davis-City of Coppell, Phone:972-304-3684;via Fax: 972-304-3570 Mr. George Marshall-City of Coppell,Phone: 972-304-3562;via E-mail:gMarshall @coppelltx.gov Mr.Rod Lacy-The Fain Group, Phone: 817-927-4388;via E-mail:rlacy @faingp.com Mr.Ernie Fields-Walter P.Moore,Phone:214-740-6251;via E-mail: efields @walterpmoore.com Mr. Mark North-ARK Contracting,Phone: 817-478-7400;via E-mail: mnorth @arkcontractingservices.com Texas CMT,Inc.
