Thanks ken g >>> John Rutledge <JLR@freese.com> 2/15/2011 12:38 PM >>> Ken Attached is the updated scope for North Lake. The fee for Phase 1 of this is proposed to be a base of $32,600. Please note scope item 9, pasted below: Sufficient geotechnical information exists with respect to the embankment to perform the above tasks with respect to the embankment. There are indications that sufficient information exists for the review of the spillway, but it is not in FNI files. If that information cannot be obtained, then additional borings will be needed in the spillway area. As a contingency item, the budget includes the performance of a geotechnical field exploration of the spillway area, including two borings and associated laboratory testing of samples. This contingency should be $12,900, for a total potential cost of $45,500. I would propose doing both the base effort and the geotechnical effort as lump sums with the field geotech as a contingency, as stated. Please let me know if this works for you, what additional information you may need, and what our next step needs to be get the contract paperwork taken care of appropriately for you.
