HVJ is pleased to submit this budget estimate for material testing and laboratory services for the
above referenced project.
Scope of Services
HVJ Associates,Inc. (HVJ) scope of services for this project will consist of on-call field and
laboratory construction materials inspection and testing services for concrete testing and monitoring,
and project management/administration.The scope of material testing services anticipated for this
project is in accordance with the project plans,specifications and City of Coppell current standards,
details and specifications:
• Paving Subgrade Density Testing&Observations
• Cement Treated Base Density Testing
• Utility Structures Concrete Testing
• Gout testing
• Concrete Paving Testing
• Sidewalk Concrete Testing
Testing,including sampling,will be performed by an ACI or TxDOT certified technician or the
testing firm's laboratory personnel,in the general manner indicated in the Specifications. The testing
firm's laboratory shall perform all laboratory tests within a reasonable time consistent with the
specified standards and shall furnish a written report of each test.
Budget Estimate
The estimated cost to perform the material testing services required on this project by HVJ is
$30,324.00. This estimate is based on schedule assumptions made in the proposal notes attached.
Testing services will be provided on an on-call basis with at least 24 hours notice to ensure proper
scheduling of work.

GENERAL NOTES
1. The items listed above are those most frequently requested. Additional test and special service quotes are available upon request.
2. A minimum charge of 3 hours applies to field testing and inspection services with the exception of sample pick ups for which only
a lump sum is charged. Onsite cancellation will be charged a minimum of 4 hours.
3. Technician time is charged on a portal to portal basis from the HVJ Associates office. The minimum billing increment for field time
is 1/2 of an hour.
4. Overtime rates of 1.5 times the regularly hourly rates will be billed for services performed before 6:00 AM and after 6:00 PM Monday
through Friday,or any hours worked on Saturday,Sunday,a Holiday,or if over 8 hours in one day.
5. 1/4 hour of project management time will be charged for every 10 hours of technician time with a minimum of one hour per invoice period.
6. 1/4 hour of Administrative time will be charged for every 10 hours of technician time with a minimum of one hour per invoice period.
7. Personnel time for site visits,consulting,compliance letter,etc.will be charged per applicable unit rates.
8. Unit prices/rates are in effect for 12 months from the date of this proposal and are subject to change without notice hereafter.
9. The above unit rates are based on the quantities provided Addendum#1 for this project.
