Cozby Public LibraW Simile Ply Rubber Membrane Roof Contractor: Diversified Construction Roofing Contractor: Berbice Corp., King of Texas Identification: Standing Seam Metal Roof, Single Ply Test Procedure: Visual Observations Weather Conditions: Partly Cloudy Ambient Temperature Range: 36°F Number of Roofing Members: Rick with King of Texas, Sam with Berbic¢ Square Feet Laid: None Description of Operations: On this date, representatives of GEE Consultants, Inc. met with representatives of King of Texas and Berbice Corporation to perform a final inspection of the single ply and standing seam roof systems.' The puqaose ofour observations were to determine conformance with plans and specifications. Observations and findings relayed verbally to the above contractors are as follows: 1. Joint cover plates at perimeter coping of single ply system missing 2. Debris - heavy throughout single ply area 3. Lack of surface mourned metal counter flashing over EPDM membrane below Dormer windows, sealed with one pa~ urethane sealant. King of Texas stated this is an approved detail. We questioned however the us,' of EPDM sealant. 4. Holes - in metal ledge cap at northeast dormer and around windows not completed. 5. Numerous random areas of poor securement of top clip at standing seams throughout main roof. Top clips should lock over standing seam panel cleats. 6. Incomplete flashing at northwest comer of northwest dormer. Masom'y work incomplete at this location. 7. Random areas of dispersed ballast in north EPDM section. 8. Small hole in EPDM flashing - north wall, northwest comer 9. Need to clean EPDM adhesive from west side of north skylights 10.. Openings at notches in radius fascia sections '" 1 I. Waterproof integrity of metal roof system due to seam height in areas of less than 2~h/12 pitch at main radius sections an~i dormers. Heavier roof maintenance of this area was discussed. Notches in panel standing seams at radius change (rever~e curvature) areas above dormers. 14.
