RE: Right-of-Way License Agreement for Telecommunication Fiber Optics
Dear Mr. Wilson:
At the April 10, 2001 City Council meeting, an Ordinance amending Chapter 6 of the Code of
Ordinances by adding Article 6-14 entitled "Certain Uses of Public Right-of-way was approved.
Attached for your information is a copy of Ordinance#2001-944.
At the May 22, 2001 City Council meeting, an item will be placed on the agenda to consider approval
of a Right-of-Way License Agreement between TXU Communications Telecom Service Company and
the City of Coppell. Upon passage of this Right-of-Way License Agreement,the Interim Right-of-Way
Use Agreement between TXU Communications Telecom Service Company and the City of Coppell,
approved at the August 22,2000 City Council meeting,will be vacated.
As indicated in the License Agreement, a fee of$1/per linear foot of fiber optic and/or conduit will be
assessed for each License Agreement. To ensure the appropriate fee is assessed, please provide the
linear footage of fiber optic and conduit you have installed in the City of Coppell right-of-way.
A copy of the Right-of-Way License Agreement that will be taken to City Council for consideration on
May 22, 2001 is enclosed. If you have any questions please feel free to call Robert E. Hager, City
