Subject:Waterline comments- dfw property- Royal/Bethel
Horace,
Below are my comments for the water line on the dfw property. I have asked our fire department and public works
department to take a look at these plans but they have not had a chance yet. As soon as they look I will send you their
comments.
1.)We would prefer the entire line to be private by adding combo meters in vaults at the connection points. This
will still allow fire flow and domestic meters. If this is not the acceptable then below are the comments for the
public water line;
2.)Eliminate as many 90 degree bends as possible, we prefer 45’s vs. 90’s.
3.)We would prefer the water line to be out from under the pavement where possible, can it be shifted to
landscaped areas?
4.)The tap in Royal should be in the landscaped median, not under pavement.
5.)Who is maintaining and operating the fire hydrants?
6.)There will need to be a 20 foot easement for the water line and the services up to the meters.
7.)What size domestic and irrigation meters will be needed?
8.)What size fire meters and vaults will be installed.
Please revise and send me a pdf of the revisions.
If you have any questions, please contact me at your convenience.
Thanks,
Michael Garza, P.E.
