per Architect's instructions.
Area in which the toilet rooms were deleted are to become part of Computer
Room 115 with lights, ceilings, floor and wall finishes same as Computer
Room 115. Add three 2'x4' fluorescent lights to this space, same as
Computer Room lights. (Lights to be located per Architect's directions.)
Alternate No. 3 - Delete Rooms 203, 218, 234 and 235:
Delete Toilet Room 203 including fixtures, walls, door and finishes
scheduled. Include this area as part of the Mayor's Office 201 and
finish the walls, floors and ceilings same as scheduled for the Mayor's

Alternate No. 7 - Delete Wood/Marble Wainscot:
Delete all painted wood mouldings and marble wainscot shown on Drawings as
follows:
Delete all wood chair rails at walls and columns (detail 8.108.C).
Delete all painted wood wainscot with marble inset on walls, columns, or
stair newe posts (detail 8.108.C and 8.108.B).
Provide painted gypsum board in lieu of the above finishes.
All wall and column base materials are to remain same as shown on details
(either painted wood or marble as shown).
All wood stair newel caps are to remain as detailed.
Alternate No. 8 - Delete "Coffered" Ceiling Over Main Lobby 102
Delete "coffered" ceilings and all wood ceiling mouldings as shown and
detailed for ceiling over Main Lobby 102. Provide one large recessed
flat suspended gypsum board ceiling in this area instead with the ceiling
height to be even with the bottom of the "coffered" ceiling beams as
detailed and to be above the sidewall mechanical supply slot diffusers.
(No changes are required to mechanical systems under this Alternate.)
Lighting to remain the same.
ACCEPTED VOLUNTARY ALTERNATES AND VALUE ENGINEERING:
Eliminate 800 S.F. of four-foot broom finish concrete sidewalk at north
entry to building.
At south side, eliminate planters, concrete steps and 2,170 S.F. of
concrete sidewalk at south entry to building.
Delete paving on west side of building.
Subcontractor/General Contractor, cost adjustment to provide Alabama
limestone as shown in elevation, Sheet A5 and Miscellaneous Details.
Eliminate concrete block and concrete ceiling vault 126, 138, 205.
Eliminate Door Nos. 42, 59, 86: Change door type from Type 5 H.M.,
A Label to Type 4 door, solid core plastic laminate.
Change Type A carpet from $24/S.F. to $16/S.F. Change Type B carpet
from $1~/S.F~ to $13/S.F. as identified on Room Schedules as "T~e A

Provide built-up wood shapes at exterior cornice in lieu of GRC cornice

SUBCONTRACT
! GENERAL SCOPE. The Subcontractor shall furnish for the contract price or prices set forth hereaRer all plant, labor and
material and perform all work as heretnafier described, in accordance w th the Contract with the Contractor and the owner, including the
general conditions, plans, specifications, addenda, together with any other documents forming the agreement between the Contractor and
the Owner, herein called Contract Documents. The Subcontractor, as to this subcontract work, is bound to the Contractor by the terms and
requirements of the above referred to Contract Documents and assumes toward the Contractor all the obligations and responsibilities that
the Contractor, by those documents, assumes toward the Owner, and the Subcontractor shall have all the benefits of the obligations and
responsibilities that the Owner, by these documents, assumes toward the Contractor.
2 BOND The Subcontractor shall pay ['or and furnish to the Contractor an acceptable 100% performance and payment bond from
a surety company acceptable to the Contractor and with a Treasury imit of not ess than the amount of the subcontract price or of the sum
of $500,000, whichever is the greater.
3. INSURANCE AND 'rAKES. e The Subcontractor shall carry sufficient werkmen's compensation, public liability and property
damage and a other nsurance as may be required to protect adequately its work, workmen, and the public at all times, and protect, fully
indemnify, and save the Contractor harm ess from any liability, claims, suits, or actions of any kind arising from the costs attached to
same. The types and amounts of insurance shall not be less than the specification or Contract re.~u, irements, but in no case shall the
property damage public liability and owned, non-owned, and hired vehicle insurance be less than $100,000/$200,000 limits. Subcontractor
sha]l submit workmen's compensation, public idb ty, property damage, and owned, non-owned and hired vehicle accident reports to its
insurance carrier immediately.

4, SUBCONTRACTOR'S INVESTIGATION AND REPRESENTATIONS. The Subcontractor shall carefully examine the plans
and specifications affecting its w(~rk and shall promptly notify in writing the Contractor of any deficiences, discrepancies, ambiguities or
errors before proceeding with the a~l~cted work.
5. TIME OF PERFORMANCE, Time of performance is of the essence of this subcontract and the Subcontractor shall perform all
of the requirements hereof with ~11 possible dispatch and shall execute all work in such a manner aa not to delay any other subcontractor or
the Contractor. The Subcontractor shall follow the progress (~f the project, be prepared to commence work when notified, keep up with the
general progress of the whole work and shall be responsible for ali damages caused by its delay, including liquidated damages or actual
damages assessed under the terms of the Contract Documents which are attributable to work under this subcontract. It is understood that
construction t~me for this pr jects extreme y cr tical. Suhcontractor therefore agrees to expedite submittals of shop drawinl~s, certificates,
test reports otc and properly man the project so as not to delay its work. Should Subcontractor at any time fait to supply a sufficient
number of skilled workmen or a sufficient quant ty of materials of proper quality or fail n any respect to prosecute the work coverall by
this Subcontract with promptness end diligence or fail in the performance of any of the agreements herein contained or should any
workmen performing work covered by this Subcontract engage in a strike or other work stoppage or cease to work due to picketing or other
s~ ch act rite, Contractor may in any of such events at ts option, without prejudice to any other remedies it may have, after forty-eight (48)
hours writl~'-n o.tice to the Subcontractor, provide any such labour and materials and deduct the cost thereof from any monies then due or
thereafter to become due the Subcentractoc.
6. CHANGES. The Contractor may at any time without notice to the sureties make changes in the work covered by this
subcontract either:

Contractor will i~sue a written change order to the subc(mtract. If mutual agreement cannot be reached and the extra work or changes is
requ red by the Owner, the provisions t f Paragr ~ph 7(bl. below, will govern if the extra work or changes is required by the Contractor,
Subcontractor does not waive its right by proceedH~g under protest provided it so notifies the Contractor's office in writing within ten days
from submittal of the itemized estimate referred to above
All such changes and orders shall be made in writing by an executive officer of the Contractor.
7, DISPUTES al ]f any controversy or dispute shall arise between the Contractor and the Subcontractor as to interpretation of
the requ rements of this subcontract, which the parties hereto do not promptly adjust and resolve, then upon written orders from an
executive officer of the Contractor, the Subcontractor shall proceed so as not to delay the work and shall file with the Contractor within
Iwenty-one days from the date of such order its written itemized estimate for the cost of performing the disputed work; otherwise, any claim
of the Subcontractor for such disputed work shall be void.
(b) If the Subcontractor makes a claim in connection with changes ordered by the owner or any dispute arising out of the Owner's
or its authorized representative's interpretation of the Contract Documents or any dispute arising out of inaccuracies, deficiencies.
d screpancies or arab gu ties in the plans and specifications, the Subcontractor shall proceed in accordance with the administrative remedies
provided for in the Contract Documents and shall exhaust its administrative remedies thereunder prior to commencing any legal action in
connection therewith.
8 DAMAGE NOTIFICATION. Notice of any damage or additional cost which Su~.o~trac,tor..a!leg.es..th~ Con.~.ractorL,ot.h, er
subcontractors or the Contractor's supp ers have caused or are causing it by their act or omission snail De nle(I In writing With [rte
Contractor within seven days from commencement of such alleged damage or additional cost. The Contractor shall not be liable or
responsible for any damages or additional costs caused by other subcontractors or the Contractor's suppliers.
9. DELAYS Should the Subcontractor's performance of this subcontract be delayed by any acts of the Contractor, other
subcontractors, or the Contractor's suppliers, or delayed by any acts or causes which would entitle the Contractor to an extension of time
under the Contract DocumenLa, the Subcontractor shall receive an equitable extension of time for the performance of this subcontract, but
shall not be entitled to any increase in the subcontract price or to damages or additional compensation as a consequence of such delays,
unless the Owner is liable and pays for such delays.
10. PATENTS. The Subcontractor shall indemnify and save harmless the Contractor and Owner from any and all manner of
claims or suits for infringements of patents or violations of patent rights, including all costs connected to same.
11. CLEAN-UP AND DAMAGE TO WORK OF OTHERS. ts) The Subcontractor shall at all times keep the building broomelean
as to its subcontract work keep the premises free from rubbish, debris, and waste and/or surplus materials resulting from its operations;
and shall turn over the premises in such condition as to permit the next succeeding work to be commenced without further cleaning. At the
completion of the project, the Subeontractor's work ia to be clean and in a condition acceptable to the Owner. If Subcontractor fails to
comp y with the provisions of this paragraph, the Contractor shall have the right itself or through others to perform such cleaning and to
charge the coat thereof to the Subcontractor provided the Subcontractor is g yen a forty-eight (48 hour written notice of such delinquency.

that this Subcontract also includes the furnishing and installation
of the below listed items regardless of whether or not they are in
the above Specification Division, or any other Specification
Division, or shown on the Plans:
1. All seating to be Massey Model 64-96 Astro Lounger II with
completely upholstered seat and outer back.

With reference to Paragraph 2 of this Subcontract, Contractor hereby
waives the requirement for Payment and Performance Bond.
It is understood that construction time for this project is extremely
critical. Subcontractor therefore agrees to the following dates with
regard to submittals:
A. Begin submittal of shop drawings, certificates, and test reports by
January2~, 1986.
B. Complete submittal of all shop drawings, certificates, and test
reports by January22, 1986.
C. Resubmit any items within a maximum of 7 calendar days after being
returned for correction.
AS required by the Specifications, all Subcontractors must conform to
the wage determination for the subject project.
