Subject: Retaining Wall Block
Gentlemen,
We are requesting to only use the 18”W X 12”L X 8”T unit in the first three courses below grade. In doing so, we would
create a credit back to the city in between$ 5-7000.00 dollars for this project. Our reasoning is that utilizing the more
expensive three piece system block below grade is neither productive nor cost effective.
Please respond at your earliest convenience.
Thank you,
Thanks,

Steve,
The intent is for the Geoweb to remain at a constant elevation in which the normal pool is equal to the grade brake in
the Geoweb. The protected slope would only move away from the trail (2 to 4 feet) as needed to makeup grade at
4:1. Feel free to call to discuss the intent of the detail. Thanks

Gentleman,
For the most part this will work but my concerns are if we move out the additional 2-4 feet we will be below the 446.50
water level. I am on my way out to the job and will verify grades and get back with you.

The attached sketch shows a revised typical section for the Geoweb installation. The existing ground is shown to scale
for the area where we met onsite yesterday. The overall length of the 4:1 slope will vary slightly depending on the
elevation of the trail. Let me know if you have any questions.
Additional information will follow regarding:
Lake outfall elevation
Fishing Pier sleeves
Headwalls
Bridge decking

Gentlemen,
After our meeting today we took some grades around the edge of the lake to verify what the existing grades were at the
edge of the water. We found that the existing ground is at the 445.50 one foot below water. If we are to move out an
additional 5 feet, the geoweb will be anywhere from 2-2.5 below the 446.50 water level. It is my suggestion after
meeting with the geoweb sales rep that we maintain the 7 to 1 for the first 8 feet, and the second 8 feet to 4-1 or
whatever the existing conditions dictate.
Please respond at your earliest convenience.
