Subject:School crossing to Mockingbird Elem
I got a call from an hysterical lady questioning why there is no school crossing directly across from
the elementary school. She went into minute detail about what she has seen since school started
of parents encouraging their children to dash across in front of traffic when they get dropped off
on the street instead of going through the drop-off lane. She said one parent told her child that if
she stepped into the street and held out her hand, it was a law that cars had to stop for her.
The lady refused to give her name and her cell phone number was blocked, but she was very vocal
about “now that she’s called us and CISD about the problem, if anyone got hurt she would sue all
of us to the max” for not having a crossing where she thinks it should be and right now.
