We just bought our home a year and a half ago so we weren't aware of the cleanup that was done previously. We do have railroad ties that are failing in that area and that is in fact what is contributing to the erosion and flooding. We would very much like some help with suggestions on how to fix the issue and any other help you could provide. Thank you again. Several years ago the City of Coppell came in and cleaned out a portion of this drainage way and notified the property owners that it is their responsibility to maintain and make sure that it doesn’t get filled with yard clippings, leaves, branches, trash, debris, etc... Any erosion protection would be the responsibility of the individual property owners. Some of the original rail tie retaining walls that are along this drainage way are beginning to rot away and fall apart causing some of the problems. If you would like for me to come take a look and give some suggestions, I would be happy to. If you have any questions, please contact me at your convenience. Thanks, Michael Garza, P.E. There is a significant amount of erosion causing our fence line to become compromised to the point where our dog is now able to climb under the fence and 1 escape on a regular basis. There is also a build-up of debris from a previous storm that is causing flooding in our yard whenever there is significant rainfall, which in turn also contributes to the erosion. Before we commit to hiring someone to come out and fix these multiple issues, we wanted to find out if this area is actually considered city drainage and if there was anything Coppell could do assist us. Thank you for your time Dan & Stacia Engelhardt 214-790-4544 2
