DR1101-CS121203 Rhonda Adloo From:John Rutledge <JLR@freese.com> Sent:Monday, December 03, 2012 8:41 AM To:Keith Marvin Cc:Kenneth Griffin Subject:North lake Keith, As we’re trying to wrap up the drawing and the specs, I came across a few more questions: -We’re using the top 5’ of the dam for clay fill over the pipe, which means the wave barrier and the current roadway will be wasted. Do you want to leave that grassed or replace the road with another flex base road? -We’re installing a small bridge over the shortest part of the pilot channel that will drain the remainder of the spillway concrete down to the exit point of the conduit. This will provide the access to both sides as we talked about. Do you want any additional access road to and from the bridge shown? Related to the first question. We could show a wide variety of access road combinations. If you’re clear, we’ll add it. You may want to look at the set when you get it and address it with your comments. -I need some guidance with the reference to standard Coppell and NCTCOG specs for both technical areas and bid items. I’ve not worked with COG specs before. How much do we need to include those? I have technical specs that cover all of the construction and most of the pay items. I can cover the few remaining items in a manner completely separate from COG or try to incorporate them. -Do you have updated wage rates? -Do you have a City grassing spec that you would like to use? I have an FNI standard that I have edited, but will use a City one that you’re more familiar with if wanted. -I’m assuming that the shale disposal area will not need to be grassed. It would need top soil and I was planning on just shaping it to drain. -There are several items I mentioned in a previous email and a few more in the specs that I’ll need your input on. I’ll flag them in the draft you receive to look at. I will be out of the office tomorrow. Outside of the questions above, the folks have my “final” comments on this set and should have those finished tomorrow. I will look at them on Wed and incorporate any comments and answers you provide me by then. My plan will be to get you a pdf set by the end of the day on Wed, assuming they get everything incorporated properly . Do you need a hard copy and if so, how many and what size? Thanks JLR John L.
