PSI® 400N
WATER-REDUCING ADMIXTURE
PSIs 400N is a normal setting,
highly concentrated multi-com-
ponent liquid admixture conforming
to ASTM C 494, Type A. PSI 400N
reduces the quantity of mixing
water required to produce concrete
of a given consistency, while
providing greater economy for a
given strength. It increases
strengths and significantly im-
proves watertightness, workability
and finishing characteristics.
ADVANTAGES IN
PLASTIC
CONCRETE
· Reduces mix water for a given
consistency
· Improves workability
· Reduces segregation
· Improves placing and finishing
characteristics
· Little or no effect on setting
time
ADVANTAGES IN
HARDENED
CONCRETE
· Increases compressive and
flexural strength
· Reduces cracking
· Reduces permeability, in-
creases watertightness
· Increases resistance to freez-
ing and thawing
· Provides improved finished ap-
pearance
DOSAGE RATES
3-4 oz. per 100# cementitious
material. For specialized applica-
tigris, contact your Cormix repre-
sentative.

STANDARDS
PSI 400N meets and exceeds the
requirements of ASTM C 494.
Type A; CRD C 87; and AASHTC
M 194.
COMPATIBILITY
PSI nOON is compatible with
types of Portland cement, ap-
proved air-entraining agents, cal-
cium chloride, stearates and the
like. It does not itself entrain a~r
significantly. It does not contain
calcium chloride as a component.
PACKAGING
PSI 400N is available in 55-gallor~
drums or in bulk. Cormix Con-
struction Chemicals will supply,
stall and maintain appropriate
dispenser systems for bulk admix-
ture users.
HANDLING
PSI 400N is formulated from
materials which are user friendly:
however, care should be exercisec
in the handling of all chemica:
materials, and goggles and protec-
tive glasses are recommendea
MSD sheets are available. PS:
400N should be protected a:
temperatures below 32' F., but i;
freezing does occur, mild agitation
after thawing will restore it tc
original strength. Do NOT use air
pressure to agitate.

AIR-TITE®
AIR ENTRAINING ADMIXTURE
Air-Tire air-entraining agent is an aque-
()us solution of neutralized vinsol resin
with a solids content of 14% +/- 1/_'2°/0.
It is used to improve the workability,
cohesion and durability of concrete
and mortar by the entrainment of
minute air bubbles of cottttolled size,
uniformly distributed throughout the
mix.
ADVANTAGES
· improves resistance of the' concrete
to freeze/thaw
· reduces permeabiliw of the concrete,
and improves its resistance to deic-
ing salts
· improves workabilit>' of the plastic
concrete due to lubricating action o[
~nicroscopic air bubbles
· reduces bleeding
USES
Air-Tire is used in exterior concrete
such as highway paving, bridge decks.
parking structures, sidewalks, curbs
and other areas needing protection
from freeze/thaw damage or harmful
al'feeLs of deicing salm.
DOSAGE RATES
Dosage rate of an air-entraining ad-
mixture required to obtain a given
percentage of entrained air will vary
depending on several factors includ-
ing slump, ambient temperature, tem-
perature of the mix, use of fly ash, sand
gradations, and the type of cement.
Air-Tire is normally used at a dosage
rate of l/8 to 2 fl. oz. per 100# of
cement. Trial batches should be run to
('on{'inI1 dosa,~Les.
