Dear Mr. Garza:
Naterra /BMSC Corporate Headquarters was designed to be served by a 6 inch sanitary sewer
service. This sanitary sewer service was designed at a 0.5 percent slope which has the capacity
to handle 232 gpm at a velocity of 2.63 feet per second. The proposed building will have two
different sanitary discharges which we have classified as process waste and domestic waste.
The domestic waste discharge for the project is 122 gpm based upon 100% usage calculations
from Howard Kane Plumbing. The process waste will be discharged into a DAF pretreatment
system which has been designed to have a release rate of 40 gpm based upon information
received from BMSC /Naterra. The total proposed release rate for the building is 162 gpm which
leaves a factor of safety of 70 gpm in the system. Based upon this information, the proposed
service has sufficient capacity of the development.
