Subject: SH 121 Waterline Rec. - RFI #1
Hello Michael,
We are in the process of releasing materials and the following questions have arisen:
A. There is a quantity of 6 – 2” Water Services for bid item 20. There is one service that we are requesting clarity
on. On plan sheet 8 at Sta. 2+02.38 (at the precast vault) there appears to be a 2” service. The enlarged
drawing on sheet 8 states 1-2” meter but is vague as to what line this is coming off of, and whether it is inside
the vault or on the 3” line outside of the vault. Please provide a detail for this.
B.We are releasing the precast vaults for production very soon (this week). It was mentioned during the pre-
construction meeting that the City may have one on hand. Should I cancel production for one of the vaults? If
so, will there be any additional work required to line up the proposed equipment with the City provided vault?
C.The City’s specifications & details call for water lines 12”and larger to be DR-18. The contract along with the
consulting engineer (TN&P) detail 12” DR-14. I would like to just double check that the approved submittal is
ok?
D.The City’s specification for fire hydrants (Std Detail # 4120) detail the assembly to connect to the new 12” main
by a Tapping Sleeve, 6” Flg x Flg valve w/ a 6” MJxFlg Adapter connected to the valve. The consulting engineer
calls out a 12”x6” TEE on the plans- (this would be MJxFlg, w/ a 6” MJ/Flg valve-normally). Which detail is
correct?
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Rusty Parker
